John Steemson is the Managing Director of Crags Radio, an award-winning community radio station serving the Bolsover District and beyond. Passionate about people and place, John leads with heart, committed to making his community not only heard, but celebrated.

In 2025, Crags Radio won its fifth award for Best Community Radio Station in the East Midlands, a recognition of the station’s quality, consistency, and meaningful local impact. And the momentum didn’t stop there. In July, the station proudly opened Craggy’s Community Café, a welcoming space designed to bring people together and offer more support across the community.

John’s commitment to Bolsover is more than professional, it’s deeply personal.
