Natalie Etches is part of the small but mighty team behind Dragonfly, an initiative dedicated to shaping a positive place narrative for the Bolsover District.

Through her role at Bolsover District Council, Natalie works to champion the stories, people, and opportunities that make the district such a special place to live, work, and grow.

The Dragonfly project employs two passionate individuals focused on positive promotion, place alignment, and community identity. It’s all about putting Bolsover on the map, for the right reasons, and driving forward a vision for social, environmental, and economic growth that is rooted in pride, people and place.

For Natalie, alignment with the Bolsover Place Programme isn’t a box-tick it’s embedded in everything Dragonfly does. From visual branding to community storytelling, her work is centred around helping Bolsover celebrate its strengths, unlock its potential, and share a cohesive, confident message with the wider world.

Some of her favourite local spots include the Pleasley Vale Trails and the Bolsover Loop, natural escapes that reflect the district’s unique blend of heritage, landscape and leisure.

Natalie is inspired by the opportunity to make a real difference, not just through strategic planning, but through the everyday stories and experiences that shape how people feel about where they live.

Her three words to describe Bolsover? Green. Historic. Friendly.

“It’s the people, the place, and the pride that make Bolsover a base for successful and positive growth.”
