BOLSOVER ENTERS UK TOWN OF CULTURE 2028 COMPETITION

Bolsover is proudly taking part in the competition to become the UK's first Town of Culture 2028.

As part of a national campaign led by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Bolsover has submitted a digital postcard celebrating the town's creativity, heritage and community spirit. The postcard is now featured on the national interactive map alongside entries from towns across the UK.

From the Lantern Parade and Pride celebrations to makers, artists, volunteers and young people shaping the future, Bolsover's culture is rooted in everyday life and shared across generations. The bid builds on strong cultural partnerships and a growing ambition to use culture as a driver for pride, wellbeing, regeneration and opportunity.

This year is also a special one for Bolsover, marking 800 years as a market town and providing an opportunity to celebrate both our history and our future.

Residents, businesses and community organisations are encouraged to join the celebration by sharing Bolsover's postcard, exploring the national map and using #UKTownofCulture on social media.

Ey up from Boza – wish you were here! 🏰✨
