SITE VISIT: KEYS TO THE CO-OP

Following the recent purchase of the former Coop building in Bolsover town centre, members of the project team visited the site this week to begin shaping its future.

The visit marked an important milestone in the development of a new community-focused space, with early discussions centred around how the building could support creative activity, local enterprise, and public events.

The team explored the building’s layout, condition, and potential for transformation - including ideas for workshops, studio spaces, digital projection, and flexible areas for learning and gathering.

After the site visit, the team held a working session to begin building a robust business case and assess feasibility. This included reviewing funding opportunities, identifying potential partners, and mapping out next steps for community engagement.

While the building remains closed to the public for now, work is progressing behind the scenes to ensure the project delivers long-term benefits for Bolsover.
