CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CREATIVITY: JUNCTION ARTS LAUNCHES 50 STORIES FOR 50 YEARS

This year marks a huge milestone for Junction Arts - 50 years of inspiring creativity, community, and culture across the region!

To celebrate, Junction Arts has launched 50 Stories for 50 Years, a year-long project capturing the voices and experiences of those who have shaped, and been shaped by, the organisation. From participants and staff to artists, this campaign is all about showcasing the transformative power of art and preserving the organisation’s rich history for future generations.

What’s Happening?Across the region, story-gathering events are taking place where local people can share memories, experiences, and creative insights. Oral histories will be recorded, and artefacts, photographs, and films will be collected. All of these materials will be preserved in a new searchable digital archive, ensuring Junction Arts’ legacy lives on.

Selected stories will then be interpreted by artists to create a moving exhibition, which will be showcased at Junction Arts’ flagship events, including:

• The Chesterfield Children’s Festival

• Tapton Lock Festival

• Bright Winter Nights

Whether you grew up attending Junction Arts’ programmes, volunteered, performed, or simply experienced the magic of their events, this is your chance to have your story heard and preserved.
