The East Midlands Designer Outlet team are still buzzing with pride after being named the winner of the Hospitality & Retail Award at the Best of Bolsover Awards 2025.
For the centre’s staff, this recognition is more than a trophy.
“It recognises the commitment and passion we bring to creating exceptional guest experiences on a daily basis, and makes us motivated to continue delivering joy to all our customers and staff,” shared Evie Winter from the team.
A hub for shopping, dining, and experiences
With more than 65 designer brands at up to 60% less than RRP, over 15 cafés and restaurants, and a growing line-up of exciting new developments, East Midlands Designer Outlet is a cornerstone of the Bolsover district’s retail and leisure scene. It’s not just a shopping destination, it’s a space for families, friends, and visitors from near and far.
As Evie explained: “Our business is important within the Bolsover area as it’s a prominent retail destination for both local visitors and tourists. We’re also proud to provide a wide range of employment opportunities as we continue to grow.”
Committed to community and sustainability
Beyond retail, the outlet is deeply rooted in its community impact. Through its EVOLVE sustainability framework, initiatives such as Recycle Your Fashion, food biodigesters, and even on-site beehives are helping reduce environmental impact.
The outlet also partners with local groups like Chesterfield Pride, South Normanton Community Group, and The Book Bus, while raising vital funds and awareness for its Charity Partner of the Year, Kid’s Village.
Investing in Bolsover’s future
A highlight of 2025 so far has been the unveiling of the centre’s brand-new £12 million food court, part of a major multi-million-pound revamp that also saw the opening of the largest Nike store in the McArthurGlen portfolio, alongside Adidas, Molton Brown, U.S. Polo, French Connection, and more.
And the story doesn’t end there, the team promise even more exciting brand arrivals and developments later this year.
A special place with a proud history
East Midlands Designer Outlet holds a unique place in Bolsover’s story. Built on the former site of the South Normanton Colliery, the centre is proud to honour the district’s industrial heritage while creating a modern hub of commerce, community, and culture.
“We want to put Bolsover on the map for both retail and leisure visitors, as well as being a community hub and a driver of economic activity,” said Evie.
Congratulations to East Midlands Designer Outlet for their well-deserved recognition at the Best of Bolsover Awards 2025, and for continuing to champion Bolsover as a destination that blends heritage, community, and innovation.
