Bolsover has a proud past, a vibrant present, and a future brimming with potential. Now we’re asking you to help shape what comes next.

With the opening of the new 8 Cotton Street Engagement Hub, we’ve launched the first phase of our public consultation - and we want to hear from you. Whether you live, work, study, shop, or spend time in Bolsover, your voice matters.

Last year, Bolsover District Council purchased the former Coop premises on Town End as part of our £15 million regeneration programme. Since then, we’ve been working with partners and exploring early ideas for how this important building - and others across the town - could once again play a vibrant role in community life.

How You Can Get Involved:

1. Visit the 8 Cotton Street Engagement Hub Drop in, explore the ideas, talk to the team, and share your thoughts. The Hub is your space to learn more and get involved.

2. Complete our Phase 1 consultation survey Tell us what you want for the town and wider district. Your feedback will directly influence the future of the former Coop building and support wider work to improve Bolsover’s town centre and help communities thrive.

• Which three words would you use to describe the town?

• What do you think are the main challenges?

• What activities or events would you like to see?

• What should happen to the former Coop building?

• Any other ideas or suggestions for Bolsover’s future?

This is the start of a phased consultation. Right now, we’re gathering general comments from across the community. Next, we’ll move into project‑specific engagement, where you’ll be invited to help shape designs, uses, and priorities for individual sites.
